National Youth Summit Series: Geospatial Technologies
September 25, 2013 - November 29, 2013
A series of youth summits for America’s best and brightest students has officially launched registration. The National Youth Summit Series are Washington, D.C., conference events which are leading the way to build a STEM-ready workforce and help young people create change in their communities. National Youth Summits on Geospatial Technologies is the first of four conferences where high school students coined as the “new generation of leaders” will participate in workshops to pursue today’s biggest issues.
This fall, September 25-29, students who have an interest in GPS, geographic information systems (GIS), and remote sensing (RS) can participate in the youth Geospatial Technologies conference and apply several applications of these technologies in fields like climate, agriculture, defense, emergency preparedness, natural resources, navigation, parks and recreation, and planning and transportation. Participating students will also have the opportunity to visit geospatial-related businesses and government agencies in the Washington, D.C., area to discover possible career paths. Attending youth will also learn how to plan their own geospatial community project and execute it in their hometown. All attending groups must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
Registration is now open for the National Youth Summit on Geospatial Technologies.
